An Adventure THrough the 10940s

June 4, 2016

Alhambra Theatre

Doors Open at 6:30 PM

Showtime 7 PM

OnTheAir3 The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County and Pennyroyal Arts Council announce An Evening On the Air: An Adventure through the 1940s, a joint fundraising event on June 4, 2016 at the historic Alhambra Theatre.

Doors open at 6:30pm. Showtime is at 7:00pm.

Join us on a journey along the sound waves of the 1940s! Grab a seat in the audience for this live radio show and hear favorites like “This Joint is Jumpin,” “Ain’t Misbehavin’,” and “In the Mood” performed by the Little River Music Society (under the direction of Barbara Felts) and an authentic big band.

Local radio legend Hal King will relay community news stories of the World War II era, and a revived Dink Embry will keep us entertained with stories, jokes, and songs.

There will be food, a photo booth, dancing, cavorting, and more! Dress the part, and get ready for an entertaining event!

You Might Have Just The Things We’re Looking For

This event offers a perfect opportunity to capture more of our community’s history. If you have any pictures, documents, or other artifacts related to World War II, please contact the Museums of Hopkinsville.

We specifically hope to expand our Wall of Honor exhibit that features the photographs and biographies of local men and women who have served our country in the armed services. Let’s get all of our favorite World War II veterans’ pictures on that wall!
