SUMMARY:FREE SUMMER ADMISSION for STUDENTS
DESCRIPTION:We’re partnering with Mayor J.R. Knight and the City of Hopkinsville to offer FREE SUMMER ADMISSION for all children and students from June 10 – August 31\, 2024! \n“This is a wonderful opportunity for our young people to learn about our rich local history and culture. I believe that by making the museum accessible for everyone\, we are investing in the future of our community. I encourage families to take advantage of this opportunity and explore and learn together\,” said Mayor Knight. \nOPEN ON MONDAYS\nThe Pennyroyal Area Museum will be open on Mondays throughout the summer\, too. That gives the community and visitors to our community an extra 11 days to explore the museum and to learn more about local history! Regular hours for the Pennyroyal Area Museum from June 10 through August 31 will be Monday through Saturday from 10am until 4pm. \nMUSEUM MONDAYS AT 10:30AM\nMondays will feature special programming each week at 10:30am at the Pennyroyal Area Museum\, too. Each Museum Monday program will allow student visitors to learn about the purpose of museums while discovering new and exciting details about our community through special presentations and activities like creating their own museum exhibits\, studying artifacts\, investigating historical events\, and more! \nNo registration is required for Museum Monday programs – and programs will all be FREE to students thanks to our partnership with Mayor Knight and the City of Hopkinsville.  \n  \nFor more information on these programs or anything else\, follow us on Facebook or give us a call at 270-887-4270.

SUMMARY:Supper Club: From the Archives
DESCRIPTION:The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County and the Human Rights Commission invite you to join The Supper Club: Inspiring Cultural & Culinary Conversations\, an open group that explores the diversity of our community through food. The club is open to anyone who loves food\, conversation\, and learning about other cultures through commensality.  \nThe Supper Club’s next meeting will be Thursday\, June 13 and will meet at the Pennyroyal Area Museum at 6pm. This month’s program features recipes prepared from cookbooks found in the archives of the Pennyroyal Area Museum. The museum staff is actively culling through recipes to choose interesting dishes that are representative of our community’s heritage. If you have any suggestions or recipes to share\, we’d love to know! \nThey will demonstrate a variety of dishes\, and guests will have the opportunity to taste and experience the cuisine. Guests will take home a recipe and any unique ingredients required to cook the dish at home. \nThe cost to attend this delicious program will be $10.00 per person.  \nDates for upcoming Supper Club gatherings will be August 8\, October 10\, and December 12. All programs will be held at the Pennyroyal Area Museum at 6pm. \nTickets can be purchased at the Pennyroyal Area Museum or online in our Shopify store.  \nThe Supper Club is designed to build community belonging. Sharing conversations over a meal is a great way to bring people together to share their culture\, rituals\, and traditions.
