Dear art community,
On September 20, 2025, the Hopkinsville History Foundation will host its annual Museum Gala to raise funds for our ongoing work. The theme this year is “Juleps, Jockeys, and Jazz “ as we celebrate Christian County in the 1920s and our history with horse racing. This year, we also commemorate the 100th anniversary of Flying Ebony, a horse born in Christian County, winning the Kentucky Derby.
Here’s the twist. The museum staff has selected 9 artifacts that embody this year’s theme for a special “Create from the Collection” art experience. Use one or more of these artifacts as inspiration for a piece of artwork. The artifacts and artwork will be on display together at the museum for the week of September 15th, leading up to the gala. The auction itself will take place during the gala.
Many thanks for your creativity and generosity,
Hopkinsville History Foundation
