Spring Break: Rock On!
It’s Spring Break, and the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County will be offering daily programs from Noon to 1 p.m. at the Pennyroyal Area Museum.
Haven’t ever visited the museum? Sticking around town instead of planning a big trip? Need something to keep your young learner busy? Stop by the museum each day for a different lesson and activity about our unique local history.
MONDAY, APRIL 1
Spring Break: Rock On!
Kick off spring break week with ROCKS! Kids will learn about different kinds of rocks, how they’re formed, which ones are found in our region, and why rocks are so important to our lives. A fun activity gives kids a chance to match rocks as they learn to distinguish between stones, fossils, and crystals. Kids get to experience this activity in the heart of our Pennyroyal Plateau exhibit where they can learn even more about local rocks, plants, animals, and even dirt. Our little paleontologists will even get to take home their own bag of precious stones!
No registration is necessary. We will be charging a special student Spring Break admission rate of $2—and accompanying adults are FREE!
